Our Story

Music Therapist: Martina Chow MA, MT-BC

The Solari Centre for Music Therapy began in January 2014 with a simple dream: to help people grow, heal, and discover themselves through music.

Our founder, Martina Chow, is a board-certified music therapist and graduate of New York University’s Master of Arts in Music Therapy program. After years of hands-on experience, she saw how much Trinidad and Tobago could benefit from music therapy and decided to create a space where people of all ages and abilities could feel supported, inspired, and at home.

What started as a small practice offering mainly therapeutic services has blossomed into something much bigger. Along the way, we noticed how important it was for students to have opportunities to keep making music outside of therapy, so we added adaptive and inclusive music programs that put each person at the center of their own journey.

Today, Solari is a warm and welcoming community with a team of about 15 teachers and staff, all working together to share the joy and healing power of music. While our home is in Trinidad and Tobago, our online programs reach families all over the world. Wherever you are, we invite you to join us in using music to learn, grow, and shine.
